For individuals - full fee is $165, rebates are available through a GP referred Mental Health Care Plan (Medicare). The rebate is currently $124.50. For clients with financial difficulties there is a sliding scale of charges - health care card a charge of $145, with a pension card $125 or bulk bill on a GP referred MHCP.
For reports and letters - the fees are based on the length of the report or letter and are charged at the recommended rate set by Australian Psychological Society.
Outside of work hours Kevin enjoys tennis, kayaking, fishing, dancing, snow skiing and spending time with his son and daughter.
Kevin has been in private practice at Life Quality & Health since 2006.
To become a clinical psychologist requires 6 years study followed by 2 years supervised practise. He was admitted into the Clinical College in 2008. His main training has been in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). The University of Queensland awarded Kevin a Master of Clinical Psychology in 2004. He uses evidence-based treatments for anxiety disorders and depression, but also incorporates techniques and tools from many other approaches. Kevin has additional training in clinical hypnotherapy; the behavioural management of Bipolar Disorder; treatments for PTSD, drug and alcohol and personality disorders using Schema Therapy.
Prior to working at Life Quality & Health, Kevin worked within 4 local schools to assist children and their parents with behavioural and emotional difficulties; he supervised masters students as a Clinical Teaching Fellow at the Bond University Psychology Clinic and he worked at the Northern Rivers Area Health Services as a Clinical Psychologist within Child and Family Counselling.
Kevin accepts appointments and referrals for :
- The specialised treatment of all emotional and behavioural problems associated with children under twelve. For example, ADHD, anxiety, depression, anger, aggression, trauma, sleep difficulties, aspergers, oppositional and defiant behaviours, grief and loss, self esteem etc.
- Mental health difficulties such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, sleep difficulties and stress in adults and adolescents.
- Registered as a NSW Victims of Crime counsellor and with NSW Workcover.
Services that Kevin does not provide: marital or couples therapy, counselling for sexual offenders 10 years or older, cognitive assessments for adults or children.
